It's true that almost every purchase adds to inequity in this world. How can it be any different when the means of production, distribution, and retail are in the hands of a very few people. Steps to change the way corporations operate allowing fair sharing of profits ranges from the impossible to the easy.
One of the easiest changes to make is to drop your expensive software and start using free software. Not only will it save you money, but it's the liberal thing to do. It will also make it a lot easier on those of us trying to put together web sites.
I've literally been banging my head this last week as I've tried to get my new blog website up and running. Configuring and installing the sofware was easy. What's been hard is trying to put together the look and feel of the site. Some of the time I've spent this week was teaching myself how to use cascading style sheets, but the rest has been trying to figure out why something works in Firefox and why it is broken in Microsoft Internet Explorer.
I've reached the conclusion that it will be easier to convert all liberals to stop using Microsoft Internet Explorer and start using the community supported Firefox browers. Last year I was amazed by Firefox's grassroots advertising campaign. They have a lot in common with our grassroots political acitivities. This year they're introducing a new Firefox Flicks advertising contest. 
And with Firefox, you'll have a better browsing experiene on TWDLL since I can't seem to figure out why Microsoft likes to throw the left hand column at the bottom of the page.
Cheryl, at Democracy for Arizona, recently reminded me about the Open Office software. Open Office is a free version that gives you the equivalent of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. The Open Office software suite also has drawing and database programs. And best of all, it's free! I have had it on my home PC for about a year and I use it to edit Microsoft Word and Excel files. You can download it FREE on the internet.
In 2006, take your first new year step to helping fight economic inequity by downloading the Firefox internet browser and working to make this your employer's internet browser standard.
Firefox is the liberal's browser to use.

Funny about Firefox, I use that and Opera but as many times as I have seen the Firefox logo, I never really saw the fox until today. I just thought it was the earth with a flame around it, lol. And Firefox was my nickname for many years too, ha, ha!
Are you entering the contest? I couldn't find the deadline. Yes IE really screws up the display and so does Safari. I tried to get the C for D folks all to move to Firefox but I had no luck. Your site displays fine for me.
Maybe on your links add a section entitled 'free stuff' that lists the best of the best in web development, browsers, etc.
I like how we can created our own profiles and blogs on your blog. Is that a Drupal thing??
Well, good work Thom. I see you said you use openoffice for a year now. I really like it. When I get less busy I will play around with their database since I haven't used my Access in years.
